The University of Michigan Affirmative Action Cases

Today we went over the comparisons between the Harvard and Michigan admissions policies.
Then, in your reading packet,  we read the synopses of the Grutter v. Bollinger and Gratz v. Bollinger cases, stopping prior to reading about the Two Cases Decided.
We then read and discussed the Bush Administration brief in favor of the plaintiffs and the other briefs in favor of the University's policies.
We finished by reading Tim Wise's article, Whites Swim in Racial Preference and discussing whether he influenced our opinions.
